Habitat’s Home Ownership Program
By partnering with Habitat, Habitat homeowners achieve the independence needed to build a better life for themselves and their families. Habitat homeowners receive financial and new homeowner education, build their home alongside volunteers, and pay an affordable mortgage.

Meet the HUD income guidelines.
Provide all requested documentation.
Meet Habitat’s 3 criteria - Need for housing, willingness to partner, and ability to pay a zero to low interest mortgage.

The number of applicants we accept are based on the number of homes we build each year.
For applicants that pass initial screening, our selection committee will schedule a financial review and home visit.

Once accepted to the program, candidate homeowners complete program requirements:
Financial education courses
Sweat equity
Work on the building of their own home alongside volunteers.

When a home build is complete, the candidate homeowner and their family purchase the home with an affordable mortgage and we celebrate with a home dedication!
